[Rouleau & Lamoureux (1992) indicate two locations for Rubus vermontanus in Nfld.; one specimen has been referred to Rubus canadensis, the other to Rubus hispidus, annotated by S.G. Hay.  Hybrids of R. canadensis × R. pensilvanicus, listed in FNA (vol. 9), reported from Nfld. under the names Rubus ×elegantulus Blanch. and Rubus ×pergratus Blanch., are now referred to Rosa ×crux Ashe.]
