[The herbarium specimen on which the name Viola rotundifolia var. pallens Banks ex Ging. is based is actually a specimen of Viola palustris, thus all combinations of Viola species based on this name are now listed as synonyms of V. palustris (pers. comm., L. Brouillet to S.J. Meades, Sept. 2, 2022). Viola palustris is known from snowbeds and alpine ravines in insular Nfld. (Bouchard et al. 1991), as well as from Labrador.]
