The specimen, originally identified as C. trisperma, was collected by R. Charest, L. Brouillet, A. Bouchard, and S. Hay (96-2378), annotated by C. Kirschbaum in 2005 as C. billingsii. Further collections of Carex trisperma-type sedges are needed to compile a more complete picture of the range of C. billingsii in NL.]
