[The first confirmed report of Eleocharis erythropoda from Nfld. was based on collections made in 2001 by C. Hanel and S. Powell from a saltmarsh, se of Summerford, New World Island, neNfld. Two previous reports of E. erythropoda by E. Rouleau from Serpentine Lake (1951) and Steady Brook (1949), wNfld. were determined by S. Galen Smith (1999) to be intermediate between E. erythropoda and E. palustris, putting the wNfld. report in doubt (Djan-Chékar et al. 2004).]
