[Juncus ×nodosiformis has been found in wet limey peat bordering Storehouse Cove, Bonne Bay, as well as wet areas in Birchy Cove (Curling), Bay of Islands. Fernald reports that this hybrid strongly resembles J. alpinoarticulatus (reported as J. alpinus), but is "more slender and with the very slender and freely creeping rhizome of J. nodosus."
