[Common reed is not often found in Nfld.; the first introduction to the Island was reported from the Stephenville barachois (DAO) in 1991 by R. Day (1991). Additional populations have since been reported from Stephenville Junction, Harmon AFB, Stephenville, and along the TCH east of Steady Brook, wNfld., as well as a few locations in central and eastern Nfld. (H. Mann, pers. comm., 2016).]
