Poa flexuosa subsp. fernaldiana is restricted to a few alpine quartzite sites on the Great Northern Peninsula and sLab.; reports from eastern Nfld. are doubtful (Bouchard et al. 1991). Soreng (1991: 399) noted that all reported specimens of Poa laxa from Nfld. and sLabrador were referred to Poa flexuosa subsp. fernaldiana (then called Poa laxa subsp. fernaldiana).
