[Potamogeton friesii is known from alkaline pools near Port au Choix and Stephenville, wNfld. (Bouchard et al., 1991); also, a single unvalidated specimen (MT) is reported from St. John’s. Labrador reports of P. friesii by Rouleau (1978) require validation, and while Crow and Hellquist (2000) include Labrador in their FNA distribution map, their text states only an insular Newfoundland range: "Nfld. and Labr. (Nfld.)" (FNA vol. 22).]
