[Cultivated as an ornamental in Nfld., not naturalized.  Probably best known in Nfld. as the snowball bush of cultivation, this sterile cultivar (V. opulus ‘Roseum’) does not occur naturally.  Some North American references place Viburnum trilobum as a variety or subspecies of Viburnum opulus, but European taxonomic databases recognize V. opulus L. and V. trilobum Marshall as separate species, a treatment that is followed in this checklist.]
