[According to Scoggan (1979), Crepis biennis was first reported in 1930 from swNfld. by Mrs. R.B. Kenney (Rhodora 32(373):3-4), who commented on her 1929 finds in Nfld.: "Of Lotus corniculatus L. and Crepis biennis L., also found there for the first time, the less said the better except to hope, for the sake of Newfoundland farmers, that I pulled up the sole specimens of each and that they will never be found there again." Mrs. Kennedy seems to have succeeded in eradicating Crepis biennis, but not the ubiquitous birdsfoot trefoil, now a common roadside hydroseeded introduction to the NL flora.]
