En: sweet white violet, Willdenow’s violet, woodland white violet
Fr: violette agreable, violette tapissante
Provincial Status: X [excluded]

[=Viola amoena Leconte 1828 nom. illeg. hom., non T.F.Forst. 1798]
[=Viola blanda Willd. var. amoena (Leconte) Britton, Sterns & Poggenb.]
[=Viola pallens T.F.Forst. ex Schult. 1819, nom. inval.]

[Viola blanda does not occur in NL; recent DNA research by Marcussen et al. (2022) has shown that many Viola species lumped together in the 2015 FNA treatment of Viola are actually distinct species, including Viola incognita, which had been synonymized under Viola blanda.  The range of Viola blanda does not extend north into Canada.  The current range of Viola incognita extends from NL west to SK, and south through southeastern U.S.]
