[A single collection of Solanum physalifolium (originally identified as S. sarrachoides) was reported from near St. John's, eNfld., by Bassett and Munro (1985); however according to authors of the Solanum treatment in Vol. 14 of Flora or North America (in press, Dec. 2022), specimens of Solanum physalifolium from NA have all be misidentified and this species does not occur in NA; Solanum physalifolium is now excluded from the NL flora.]
