[When this taxon is placed in the genus Packera, the name Packera heterophylla, originally described as Cineraria heterophylla by F.E.L. von Fischer in 1812, has priority over the name P. cymbalaria, which was originally described as Senecio cymbalaria by Pursh in 1813. Within insular Nfld., this species is known from the limestone barrens of wNfld. (Bouchard et al. 1991, recorded as Senecio cymbalaria).
