[Solidago uliginosa was recently divided into 3 varieties by J.C. Semple et. al. (2019).  The typical variety does not extend into Canada; the variety that occupies most of Canada, from Nunavut to Newfoundland and Labrador, is var. peracuta (Fernald) Freisn.  In Newfoundland, var. terrae-novae is restricted to the southern portion of the island.  See: https://uwaterloo.ca/astereae-lab/research/goldenrods/classification-and-illustrations/solidago-uliginosa.]
