[Classified as historically present in Bouchard et al. (1991), D. pycnosperma was known only from the Highlands of St. John, nwNfld.; it was last collected in 1925; its current status in Nfld. is unknown. A specimen of D. pycnosperma was collected in 2008 from Lourdes de Blanc Sablon, Québec, adjacent to the Québec-Labrador border, by C. Hanel, P. Sokoloff, and J. Maunder, however, no populations from Labrador have been reported.]
