[Although Dendrolycopodium hickeyi was often reported from Nfld. and Labrador, NL vouchers (at MT and NFM) indicate that all but 8 specimens, previously identified as D. hickeyi, are referred to D. dendroideum (see notes under D. hickeyi). Note that NL specimens in more exposed locations often vary a bit in the direction of D. hickeyi, but are still distinctly D. dendroideum. Also, NL reports of Dendrolycopodium obscurum are referred to D. dendroideum, and D. obscurum reports from south-coastal Labrador (Day 1999) likely refer to D. dendroideum. In 2003, J. Maunder reported D. dendroideum from the south coast of Labrador (Cartwright and Paradise River areas); images are presented in the Digital Flora (J. Maunder, pers. comm., Apr. 29, 2015).]
