[Initially, Cherleria marcescens was known only from western Nfld. serpentine barrens (Bouchard et al. 1991, reported as Minuartia marcescens). In 1999, its range was extended to serpentine outcrops in cNfld., L. Hermanutz and H. Mann, pers. comm. (NFM). For the latest treatments of Minuartia and Cherleria, see Dillenberger and Kadereit (2014) and Moore and Dillenberger (2017).]
