[This hybrid clubmoss occurs in Nfld. within the overlapping range of both parents (D. sitchense and D. tristachyum), however, most NL reports of this hybrid refer to Diphasiastrum sitchense. While one parent (D. tristachyum) is still not verified from Labrador, it seemed unlikely that hybrids with this species occur throughout Labrador; however, Payette et al. (2013) shows 1 distribution dot from northeast of Smallwood Reservoir. The MT database also identifies 4 specimens from Labrador, determined by M. Raymond, with one collection at MT by Wynne-Edwards from Nain, nLab. (L. Brouillet, pers. comm., Jan. 2017).]
