[In insular Nfld., Astragalus alpinus var. alpinus was reported in Bouchard et al. (1991) from two limestone barren locations in nwNfld.: Burnt Cape Ecological Reserve and Quirpon Island, nwNfld. In 2017 and 2018, Claudia Hanel reported this variety from limestone barrens on the Port-au-Port Peninsula, while photographs of an Astragalus from northeast of Bottomless Pond, wNfld., taken in 2018 by Joan Compton Easton, also appear to be of Astragalus alpinus var. alpinus. In Labrador, its habitat includes gravel sandbars in the Churchill River valley.]
