[Hultén's distribution map (1968) shows a seLab. location for Rumex crispus, but all specimens from that area have proven to be Rumex longifolius. A 2010 report from Makkovik (neLab.) of R. crispus was referred in 2019 to R. longifolius by Erica Oberndorfer. There are still no verified reports of R. crispus from Labrador.]
[Some sources list the names R. patientia Gaud. ex Meisn. (1857) and R. patientia Gay (1849) as synonyms of R. crispus L., but this appears to be an error. Gaudin ex Meisner (1856) makes reference to "Chili (Cl.Gay)" on page 51 in the description of R. patientia. Gaudin cites Linnaeus as the author and the mention of Claudio Gay seems to refer to the distribution of R. patientia, rather than a citation of a synonym. In Gay's Flora Chilena [Historia Fisica y Politica de Chile – Botanica], Gay includes R. crispus and R. patientia, both attributed to Linnaeus, in his treatment of Rumex (vol. 5:274-282), but did not make new combinations of these names.]
