[North American plants previously known as Platanthera hyperborea are almost all referred to P. aquilonis. True P. hyperborea was thought to be found only in Iceland and Greenland (Sheviak 1999), however Sheviak (2011) later reported P. hyperborea from several regions in Canada. Regardless of these discoveries, most hyperoborea-type Platanthera in NL will be P. aquilonis.]
