[A single Labrador report (Wells 1996, from near Cartwright) of Brachyelytrum aristosum was likely recorded in error, as no specimen was collected and the open peatland habitat is not consistent with the habitat of this grass species.  All Newfoundland reports of Brachyelytrum erectum are referred to Brachyelytrum aristosum. See Koyamo & Kawano (1964).]
