[=Hypericum quadrangulum L. subsp. obtusiusculum Tourlet (basionym)]

[The identity of this St. Johnswort species was correctly determined by Sean Blaney (ACCDC) as Hypericum maculatum subsp. obtusiusculum, collected in September, 2016, from the Pinchgut Lake area in wNfld. This taxon, originally reported as Hypericum punctatum Lam., was collected by J.E. Maunder in 1996 (NFM) from Stephenville Crossing, wNfld.  Additional locations in wNfld. were identified by S.J. Meades in Pasadena (2015) and Gallants (2016), S. Blaney (2016), and M. Oldham (2017). All of these populations are of H. maculatum subsp. obtusiusculum.  Another specimen, recently annotated as H. maculatum subsp. obtusiusculum by Étienne Lacroix-Carignan (MT), was originally identified as Hypericum pulchrum, reported from Black Duck, wNfld., by C. Hanel and S. Powell (NFRPP) in 2000 (NFM, MT) (Djan-Chékar et al. 2004).  All known Nfld. specimens of H. punctatum and H. pulchrum have now been corrected to Hypericum maculatum subsp. obtusiusculum.]
