[Dryopteris expansa is known in Nfld. from the St. Anthony area (Britton 1976), nwNfld., as well as exposed headlands in southwestern Nfld. and the Pouch Cove to Cape St. Francis Area of the neAvalon Peninsula, eNfld. (J. Maunder, pers. comm. May 3, 2015). Two Labrador reports in the MT database originate from wLab. (L. Brouillet, pers comm., Dec. 2016). This diploid species is considered to be one of the parent species of Dryopteris campyloptera (FNA 2:287).]
