[Collomia linearis, a western North American species, was first collected in Goose Bay, Labrador, in 2007 by Mike MacDonald from disturbed sandy ground around the Goose Bay airport. It has been found in similar habitats at other locations around the airport perimeter by botanists Marion Sensen (2009), and S.J. Meades, S. Bennett, and M. Crowell (2010).]
