[Carex silicea is known historically from coastal sand dunes in St. Georges Bay and Stephenville Crossing (Bouchard et al., 1991), and recently from Terra Nova National Park (Brouillet et al., 1997), St. George’s River and Bay, and Bay of Exploits by the NFRPP team (NFM, MT) in 2000-2001. A 1967 Labrador report by Y. Mäkinen from se of Esker, wLab. (CAN) is recorded from a "gravelly roadside (apparently introduced)", but has not persisted.]
