[Both subspecies of Botrychium lanceolatum are classified as historically present in Nfld. in Bouchard et al. (1991). Botrychium lanceolatum subsp. angustisegmentum, known from southwest and western Nfld., was last located in 1939, but plants of subsp. lanceolatum were located on Great Sacred Island, L'Anse-aux-Meadows NHP (Hay et al., 1992). Recent correspondence with Botrychium expert D. Farrar indicates that subsp. angustisegmentatum may be the only subspecies of B. lanceolatum present in eastern Canada (J. Maunder, pers. comm., Apr. 2015); however, we will wait for results of Farrar's research to see what changes may be necessary.]
